Our Team

Health Links™ is housed within Center for Health, Work & Environment, one of six Centers of Excellence for Total Worker Health® recognized by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Our team of mentors and science-led experts are located in the Colorado School of Public Health on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. We are also supported by Ambassadors who champion health and safety in their communities and help us spread the word about our program.

    Liliana T. Starr

    Co-Founder & Director

    Lili directs Health Links and is the associate director for outreach at the Center for Health, Work & Environment, overseeing Total Worker Health® programs and research. She is responsible for outreach, dissemination, and strategic partnerships. She earned a B.A. in Marketing from Leeds School of Business at CU Boulder and an MPH from the Colorado School of Public Health. Prior to Health Links, Lili co-founded LiKi FAIRE in 2011, a sustainable brand working with local artisans and community programs globally. For fun, she seeks outdoor adventure on skis and by foot, good food, and happy co-workers.

    Lee S. Newman


    Lee contributes to Health Links’ vision, strategic planning, and content, bringing perspectives of a public health educator, physician and small business owner. He has traveled to over 50 countries with many more to go. He has a passion for his wife and kids, indigenous art, contemporary art, great food, and the great outdoors.

    Joshua Scott

    Director of Education & Training

    Josh leads a team of professionals responsible for providing community training through in-person educational events and online learning aimed at disseminating Total Worker Health best practices. He is a former college athlete, avid outdoorsman, and passionate advocate for healthy workplaces.

    David Shapiro

    Program Manager

    David oversees day-to-day operations of the Health Links program and advises organizations in our network, sharing resources and recommendations to improve the health and safety of their teams. David brings years of nonprofit consulting, business relations, and project management experience to Health Links. A proud husband and father of three, David is a lifelong learner and relationship builder. His hobbies include tennis, hiking, reading, and gardening.​

    Jenna Lavallee

    Partnership Development Coordinator

    Jenna recruits organizations to participate in two of the Center for Health, Work & Environment's projects, Health Links and the Small + Safe + Well (SSWell) study, by conducting targeted community engagement and relationship building. Jenna has experience in business development and account management, mixed method research and program evaluation, and food security advocacy. In her free time, Jenna enjoys exploring beautiful Colorado with her family, friends, and puppy, Kona.

    Avery Artman

    Communications & Media Manager

    Avery oversees Health Links’ external communications efforts, from messaging to media relations. She enjoys traveling, making and admiring art, and drinking way too much coffee for her own good.

    Amanda Kujawa

    Communications Professional

    Amanda provides communications support to the Health Links team through email marketing, social media and website management, and designing marketing collateral. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the mountains and looking at pictures of pugs.

    Carol Brown

    Associate Director of Research

    Carol’s background is in psychology, with a specific emphasis in program evaluation. For the past eight years, she has overseen evaluation activities for a number of public health programs. Carol provides leadership and oversight for the evaluation program for Health Links. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors and wrangling small children.

    Miranda Dally


    Miranda works with the Health Links team behind the scenes on all things data related. This includes data collection, data cleaning, and data analysis. She can often be found chasing her twins around Denver City Parks.  

  • Wenyi  Fan

    Wenyi Fan

    Data Manager

    Wenyi provides data support by managing and maintaining incoming data and analyzing data for routine reports. During her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and doing fitness exercises to cheerful music.

  • Brenda  Thompson

    Brenda Thompson

    Education Administrative Coordinator

    Brenda helps to coordinate Health Links events throughout the year and promotes Health Links programs at Colorado-based conferences. Outside of work, she spends as much time as possible playing with her granddaughter.

    Giselle Habeych

    Accounting & Finance

    Giselle provides accounting and finance support for the Health Links team through all aspects of financial tracking, budgets, projections, billing, payables, and contract execution/maintenance. When not consumed by excel spreadsheets, she enjoys hiking, camping, playing tug-of-war with her pup, traveling, and learning about new cultures.

    Cortney Cuff

    Community Programs and Events Manager

    Cortney assists faculty and staff with various events, community outreach activities, and the membership program. Prior to joining Health Links, Cortney worked in the legal industry. She has experience in business development, event planning, and marketing. Cortney received her Master of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Change Management from the University of Colorado Denver in 2016.
